KEY SPRINGS
The key springs for the Pratt-Read white and black keys differ.
To maintain a consistent lever action between the white keys and
the shorter, black keys, the black-key springs are made slightly
wider or longer, making their tension looser.
Manufacturers sometimes paint a color onto
their springs to differentiate the "black" springs from the "white"
ones but the color they use can vary.
The Pratt-Read spring we supply will have the correct stiffness even though its color
might not match your original spring.
In the drop-down menu, select a spring for either a white key or a
black key.
