Here you see one of these keyboard assemblies removed from a Korg M1 synthesizer.

Although we can replace broken keys with the assembly removed, we're not much better off, contact-wise, than when the assembly was in the synth.

Korg M1 Keyboard Assembly

For full access to the contacts, remove the screws holding the contact assembly to the key frame.

Two of the screws are marked with red tape in this photo.

If it's a Korg, the screws are probably black.  If it's a Yamaha, they're probably gold.
